Reading about the cardiovascular system is like reading sherlock holmes or watching 柯南, it is astounding how everything makes perfect sense at the end and I am left amazed at the sheer genius of our body.

The only difference is, I will be tested on this material after the end of the chapter. Haha :)

That said, I am so so enjoying the material right now, I just wish I had a little more time to learn, absorb and be able to understand how everything we do impacts our big hearts.

I am not a very big fan of snow. It has lost its appeal ever since the start of college, when I realized that all the fluffiness did was make it harder for me to walk to class.

But there’s something about those tiny flakes, falling so slowly that that seem to be suspended in midair. Like little wishes or blessings. We talked about awe in medicine this week during healer’s art, and the closest I can describe the feeling of watching a brand to life come into being in front of me is…

Its as if the OR was alight with thousands of blessings, falling like the snow, dancing like fireflies, welcoming the baby into this world.

Whenever I stop and think about it, I am so very lucky I’ve chosen a life where I can dance and share the joy of others.

Tonight I drove back to OHSU, like I always do at the end of another weekend. As I was walking from the gravel parking lot back to my apartment, I glanced at the night sky in between the trees around me. It was surprisingly clear and I could just see Orion’s belt in the distance. Suddenly, I remembered that the last time I looked up at that constellation was when Sen and I were in the small village of Lijiang. We had walked back from dinner, into the quaint little bed and breakfast we are staying at, when I noticed the stars and pointed out orion to him.
Somehow, its comforting to know that even though I am so far away from him now. The stars have not changed, there are still somethings that connects my world to his.
